Mini skirt too Short?

My husband and I were grocery shopping last weekend, when we were temporarily distracted. Suddenly, my husband gasped and stopped dead in his tracks. I followed his gaze and was about to smack him for gawking over this young woman, when I too, found myself gasping. This young woman was wearing a mini skirt. And I’m not talking about a normal miniskirt, this one was so short in the back that you could tell that she was not wearing anything under it. Yes, you could see the bottom of her rear end. We were not the only people to be staring, everyone that she walked past turned to gawk. Men were not seeming as if they were enjoying the sight, it seemed more like they were appalled. Children were giggling while parents were trying to distract them from looking. The entire time, this young woman smiled and seemed oblivious. There was no way that she didn’t know that her mini skirt was baring all.

Mini Skirt and Teenagers

I see teenagers walking through the malls wearing a tiny mini skirt and I wonder how in the world their parents ever allowed them out of the house. I’d never let my daughter wear a miniskirt that was only more than a few inches above the knees. Apparently, it is now considerable fashionable to wear a mini skirt that doesn’t allow you to bend over without someone catching a glimpse of something that should be left to the imagination. I was watching a cartoon with my toddler yesterday, and I couldn’t help but notice that one of the characters was wearing a mini skirt that only encourages children to see it as being acceptable. Now, I’m not being critical of cartoons or anyone who allows their kids to wear a mini skirt. What I am saying, however, is that there is a time and a place for everything. We turn on the TV and see celebrities dancing around a stage wearing a mini skirt that if the camera hits the right angle, allows people to see everything. These are role models for our children. I’m hoping that I’m
not the only one who thinks that this is a bit too much for our society.

I’m only 30 years old, so I’m far from being overly conservative. However, when I was in high school, a mini skirt was considered a skirt that touched our knees. It was attractive and left quite a bit to the imagination. Heads turned to stare from admiration rather than appalling glances. That’s what is considered attractive. At least it used to be. Apparently times have changed.
